Nothing suitable found?

We adapt one of our trips to your needs or create your dream trip together with you. You tell us how you would like to stay overnight, which activities interest you, which parts of the country you would like to get to know and we will put together a travel program with the right amount of action, adventure and relaxation!

One, two or even three?

Paradisiacal beaches, cheeky monkeys, colorful parrots, dense rainforests, sublime volcanoes – actually, Costa Rica already fills out a vacation perfectly. Despite the small area of Costa Rica, there are so many natural spectacles and colorful animal worlds that you could easily fill several weeks with a vacation program. Nevertheless, Costa Rica is a very good option for planning a trip to the neighboring countries of Panama or Nicaragua.

How many countries you plan in your vacation usually determines the length of the vacation. Because for us, traveling is a pleasure and you shouldn’t get stressed because you’ve put too many items on the list because there’s just too much to see. In about two weeks you can easily combine northern Costa Rica with a trip to Nicaragua or southern Costa Rica with a trip to Panama. But if you want enough time and want to stay a little longer in one place, two weeks can quickly run out.

For the whole of Costa Rica and a trip to one of the neighboring countries, you should plan at least 3 weeks. If you have enough time, you can of course combine all three countries or travel to Guatemala, for example. No matter how many countries you decide to travel to, you should plan enough time to get to know the individual characters and the charm of the small Central American countries.

Highlights of the neighbors

  • Getting to know several cultures
  • Colorful markets & lively cities
  • Untouched nature of several countries
  • Agile animals: from monkeys to snakes
  • Fantastic beaches & lonely islands
  • Remote lodges and hotels

Individually through several countries?

Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua can be best traveled with a rental car. You should always expect a few potholes here and there and cyclists on the road, but all in all it is quite comfortable to drive from one destination to the next. However, you cannot take the rental car across the border. A rental car must remain in the country in which it was picked up and you can then simply transfer to the border and to the next rental car station or – if you like it a little more adventurous – simply get on one of the intercity buses, which the locals also use as a means of transport to use. With a bit of Spanish, you can quickly find someone to talk to and you can learn a bit more about the country and its people.

Of horse-drawn carriages and fake border posts...

Nothing unusual on a Central American border. Actually, such a “border experience” is a rather strange adventure if you decide to walk from one border post to the next with your suitcase in tow. You could think you are in the middle of the fair, because that’s what the hustle and bustle that rages around you would suggest. After the exit modalities on the Costa Rican side, you are repeatedly offered that you could put your suitcase on the car for a small fee. After several negatives, you can then continue your journey with your suitcase.

Then – in the middle of nowhere – a wooden hut, which the police use to control. Passports are checked and right next door a friendly Nicaraguan wants to sell all kinds of papers for entry. A booming business, as can be seen on the way to the border post in Nicaragua. The motto: Don’t be put off, decline with thanks and just keep going. After a hundred more meters in the turmoil and two horse carts later, it’s almost done. Only the stamp in the passport and you are ready for another country full of nice people, colorful towns and beautiful landscapes.
