Our Kekoldy and Bribri tour starts around 9am at your hotel. We will first visit the iguana farm and the medicinal plant garden of the indigenous reserve of Kekoldy, where a small indigenous family is dedicated to the protection of the Green Iguana. This species was already threatened with extinction and has recovered thanks to some initiatives like this one.
We will then visit another indigenous family in the Bri-Bri Reserve, where we will have a short guided tour to learn more about the properties and uses of some traditional plant species. Here we will also learn how to make chocolate. The cocoa bean has a very important place in the Bri-Bri culture, as it is used for purification rituals, as food and also as medicine.
The last place we will visit is a waterfall where we can take a refreshing bath and enjoy a fruit snack. The tour will end at a local restaurant where we will have a typical Caribbean lunch before heading back to the hotel.
